The Refuge is open from one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset. Access to the refuge is through the main entrance off Hudson Road in Sudbury and through the north entrance on White Pond Road in Stow. From the east, to get to the main entrance, from Sudbury Center head west on Hudson Road, turn north (right) into the parking lot of the Sudbury, Marlborough State Forest in Sudbury. From the west, from Hudson Center, head east on Main Street into Sudbury, passing the Massachusetts State Fire Academy, turn north into the State Forest parking lot. From the North, take Rt. 27 south to Fairbanks Road, south (right) onto Fairbanks Road, follow to Hudson Road, turn right and follow posted signs driving west to the entrance. The north entrance to the refuge can be reached off of White Pond Road in Stow. White Pond Road is located on the south side of Great Road (Rtes 62/117) about 3/4 of a mile east of Lower Village. Main Gate Parking (at Hudson Road in Sudbury) In the past, Refuge visitors were able to park their cars in the Sudbury State Forest parking area off Hudson Road. This property was transferred last year to the State Department of Fire Services, who closed the parking area to public access beginning in June 2007. Parking for Refuge visitors is now provided on the entrance drive – please park head in along the fence. There is space for about 15 cars along the driveway.
